FirstPort Funding Focus!

We are so pleased to finally announce that we have been awarded further funding from FirstPort!

Earlier this year, thanks to the initial funding we received from First Port, we were able to deliver 100 fully-funded counselling hours to residents of South Tyneside. This project was a huge success and ended in early summer. However, now we can confirm we will be back at Bilton Hall Community Trust to continue our project.

The growth funding allows us to continue delivering fully-funded counselling hours to residents in South Tyneside as well as starting a new project which will begin in the coming weeks.

Our Wellbeing Support Group will take place on a Monday morning (9.30-11am) at Bilton Hall Community Trust. This means we can support a larger number of residents who would like help with their mental health and wellbeing needs.

Each session will have a focus around topics such as mindfulness, confidence building, self-esteem and journalling before breaking out into a cuppa and a catch up. For those who need an extra bit of 1:1 support, we will be on hand to provide mental health check-ins. At the beginning of each session, group members will be able to sign up for a slot with one of us.

Our aim is to help get rid of the stigma around mental health issues. We all have times when things are difficult in life and we need that extra bit of support. It is normal to be able to reach out to others in times of need and have open and honest conversations. We hope our group support sessions will empower, create resilience and foster a supportive community.

We are so grateful that FirstPort recognises how essential good mental health is in creating and maintaining a thriving sense of community and are looking forward to continue to play our part in supporting residents of South Tyneside.
